Welcome Back!  I hope this letter finds each member of the Panther family well and safe.  To say I have missed you would be an understatement.  In March, the school year was abruptly changed due to the COVID 19 pandemic.  Students began an extended phase of ELearning.  We never thought we would be entering the next school year without our students in the school building, but here we are!  The Sampit staff is back and ready to take on the 2020-2021 school year.  Although we will not begin our year face to face, we are gearing up for a great school year. To returning members of the Sampit family, I am looking forward to your return.  For new family members joining us this year, welcome to Sampit Elementary!

Students, I hope that you are excited about the learning opportunities for the 2020-2021 school year.  Whether you are attending school virtually or through the remote to prime model, it is our hope that every student develops their leadership abilities while building academic skills.  You will get the opportunity to participate in activities that strengthen not only your character but also your academics.  We want you to “Grow as Great LEADers”!  It is our goal to continue emphasizing the importance of being a leader and developing the skills required to be a productive citizen.

Parents/Guardians working with the school as partners ensure success for our students.   This takes on a new meaning as we navigate increased digital learning. We encourage you to be highly engaged in the education of your child.  It is imperative that you are prepared to communicate with your child’s teacher through digital platforms (email, texts, phone calls, etc).  We will also continue to seek opportunities to invite you into the school day.  Opportunities to engage will be provided virtually until face to face interaction is permitted.  It is also important that you stay abreast of activities through our social media platforms.  We need your continued support as it is essential for the academic success of our children.

This year will complete my ninth year as principal and my thirtieth year as an educator.  Thank you for your continued support.  I look forward to working with each of you.  Sampit has an open door policy.  If you have any questions or concerns for me, please feel free to contact me at the school at 843-527-4411 or sgoff-mack@gcsd.k12.sc.us
